Normally when you hear about tropical storms and hurricanes, we never assume that we're going to be affected.

In most cases you'd be right, but we won't be so lucky this time.

The National Hurricane Center announced that there is tropical storm brewing which has an 80% chance of becoming a Tropical cyclone.

The humidity from this system will have a huge impact on Quebec over the weekend.

Heavy rain will fall in Quebec, the Maritimes and Newfoundland. As much as 100 mm of rain is expected to fall.

Last time something similar happened, it took less than 70 mm of rain to cause some flooding and power outages in Montreal.

Quebec is expected to be battered with strong, gusty, brisk winds.

The weather network also issued a rainfall warning this morning, which includes warnings about heavy downpours,  flash floods and water pooling on the roads.
