Vanier College in Saint-Laurent has taken a firm stance against the environmental hazards caused by disposable water bottles; the sale of plastic water bottles has been completely banned on the CEGEP's campus.

Plastic water bottles are a well-known source of pollution and waste, and Vanier College aims to aid the environment in a way "that's not difficult to do," Vanier's Student Association President told CTV News.

Easy accomplished and a major boon to the environment, maybe Montreal at-large should follow suit and enforce a city-wide ban on plastic water bottles.

To make sure water is still readily available to all students, Vanier is in the process of upgrading their water fountains and making permanent/re-usable containers available on campus.

Should all of Montreal ban plastic water bottles?
