An Emergency Situation Has Shut Down The Entire Montreal STM Blue Line
An intervention by emergency medical services has led to a major metro service interruption.
According to a post to the STM Ligne Bleue Twitter account, the entire blue line has been shut down as officials intervene in an emergency medical situation.
"Shutdown BLUE line between Snowdon and St-Michel. Inter. Emergency medical services," the post reads. The STM projects that service will not resume until 1:42 PM.
A photo posted to Twitter shows fire trucks outside what appears to be Outremont station. We have not confirmed this location.
UPDATE: Normal metro service has resumed on the blue line.
This is the second major event to affect metro service today. Earlier, the presence of smoke at Jean-Talon station, the eastern connection between the blue and orange lines, forced trains to bypass it..
Yesterday, part of the western arm of the orange line was also shut down due to a train breakdown..
Details about the current situation on the blue line are few.
Stay tuned. We will update this article with more information as it becomes available.
