Montreal Priest Has Been Stabbed This Morning At Saint Joseph's Oratory
The assailant is in police custody.

A stabbing incident during Friday morning mass at St. Joseph's Oratory has ended in an arrest. At 8:40 AM today, a priest was stabbed in the upper-body by an unknown assailant.
According to witnesses, a suspect ran up to the priest while he was conducting morning mass and stabbed him with a sharp object. The suspect was arrested by Montreal police and is now in custody.

The attack happened at around 8 AM during mass. Little is known about the identity of the attacker or their motives.
Montreal Police quickly arrived on the scene and arrested the suspect. The victim, Father Claude Grou, a beloved priest at St. Joseph's Oratory, was taken to the hospital with an upper-body injury. He's in non-life threatening condition.
Witnesses describe a man running up to the priest from the back of the rectory to attack him with a sharp object. The attack was live-streamed and also televised, apparently witnessed by viewers.
