Got COVID-19 concerns? Ask Chloe.
It seems like the only thing flying around more than Dialogue, are working hard to relay and put people's minds at ease. is information pertaining to the virus itself. Between updated data, symptom lists and recommended safety precautions, it’s easy to become overwhelmed, especially when you feel you may have come into contact with a carrier. Companies, like Montreal's very own
Launched in 2016, Dialogue is a virtual care provider that offers users online health services and directs them towards the next right step, such as the closest physician, suggested remedies and other resources.
A specific team at the company has developed Chloe for COVID-19, an automated resource that aims to give the most up-to-date information, direct people to testing clinics if needed and check-in on those in self-isolation and their symptoms.
The service is free for Canadians and is available at covid19.dialogue.co from any device with Internet access.
"When the pandemic hit, we asked ourselves 'What can we do to help the public?’" said Alexis Smirnov, Dialogue co-founder and CTO.
"We were already providing virtual care services to millions of Canadians through our corporate service, but felt we had a greater responsibility to support the public at large."
The goal was to bring Canadians information that they could trust and alleviate their worries.
It also aimed to free up emergency resources, which became bombarded at the beginning of the pandemic.
The original version of Chloe was launched in March, but with the help of Mitacs, a not-for-profit that works with research programs, the latest version was launched last month.
Mitacs is also helping those companies working towards COVID-19 solutions.
Thanks to their partnership, Dialogue is able to hire more interns to their team.
As told to MTL Blog in an email, anyone studying software engineering, artificial intelligence, or telemedicine anywhere in Canada and interested in joining the project is encouraged to contact Mitacs' business development team.
