Greta Thunberg is officially coming to Montreal to march in protest against Climate Change. She made her trip to North America in a zero emission sail boat. She will march in the Montreal protest on September 27th, full details of the event at the bottom of this article. Visit MTLBlog for more headlines. If there has ever been a perfect example of, "Don't judge someone based on their age," Greta Thunberg is it. The teenage dynamo has sparked a fire in the hearts of people across the world, her age and Asperger's be damned. The Swedish activist has helped her peers across the globe feel empowered to speak up and demand more from their political leaders, and in doing so, she's managed to get more than a handful of adults on board, too. In fact, she's got so many people on board she was able to get a team to sail her from Europe to North America in order for her to continue her work on this side of the pond without the carbon footprint of an international flight. That's dedication. Thunberg made her way to New York City first, to participate in the United Nations Climate Action Summit that is happening on September 23rd in the Big Apple. Then, she's headed our way the following week to participate in the protest being planned by 'La Planète s'invite au Parlement,' which is scheduled to take place throughout Montreal. Thunberg sent out the tweet below while on her zero-emissions sail across the Atlantic, en route to New York for the Climate Action Summit. When haters go after your looks and differences, it means they have nowhere left to go. And then you know you’re winning!I have Aspergers and that means I’m sometimes a bit different from the norm. And - given the right circumstances- being different is a superpower.#aspiepower pic.twitter.com/A71qVBhWUU— Greta Thunberg (@GretaThunberg) August 31, 2019 In a thread of tweets, Thunberg admitted that there were times when her Asperger's kept her from living life to its fullest, but now she's empowered because she can clearly see what a positive impact it has had in terms of this global movement. The thread of tweets received a lot of responses, both positive and negative, including the now-infamous tweet by Quebec politician Maxime Bernier.
