Although many people have been hoping the Home Alone reboot's plot would involve a new Kevin getting lost in Montreal, it seems this will not be the case.\nThis new version is said to be very different from the original Home Alone from 1990.\nRead everything we know about the new film's plot below!\nVisit MTLBlog for more headlines.\nAs most of you know, the Home Alone reboot is filming in and around Montreal. I'm super excited about this movie however, I have been a little nervous because of how much I love the original. Home Alone is one of those flawless films that you couldn't possibly re-create, which is why I was happy to hear that the reboot would be completely different from its original.\nI'm one of those movie watchers who are skeptical of remakes however, something tells me that this one is going to be good, especially since it's being filmed right here in Montreal.\nThe cast is already a killer combination. It's known that Ellie Kemper, Archie Yates, and Rob Delaney will star in the Disney+ reboot of the film. The script was written by Mikey Day, and Dan Mazer is said to be the one calling the shots as director.\nArchie Yates, who everyone believed will be taking over the role of Kevin, will apparently not be playing this iconic role, according to Variety. The lead character he plays will be a brand new person.\nYates will be playing a mischievous nine-year-old named Max who is full of personality and an ability to push the buttons of his elders, according to The Observer.\nView this post on Instagram Hello 🤗🔫 #homealone #macaulayculkin #wetbandits A post shared by Home Alone © Official (@homealoneofficial) on Jan 28, 2018 at 10:54am PST\nMax is set to steal from a husband and wife, and the plot will involve the couple deciding to retaliate against him and get their revenge.\nLooks like it's bye, bye forever to little Kevin (and Macaulay Culkin).\nI'm expecting to see some bad guys, some booby traps, an iconic delivery scene and hopefully a fake party or two. And, of course, some shots of Montreal.\nWould it even be a Montreal-filmed movie if we didn't catch a glimpse of Saint-Joseph's Oratory?\nView this post on Instagram A post shared by Home Alone © Official (@homealoneofficial) on Dec 5, 2015 at 4:35am PST\nMany people believed that Kemper and Delaney would be playing the young man's parents, but it's been rumoured that they will be playing the other two important roles in the film.\nI am assuming (and hoping) that Kemper and Delaney will be just as mischevious as the kid is set out to be.\nWe'll just have to wait until the film comes out to see what part they'll play!\nIf you spot any of the cast members filming throughout the city, make sure to snap a picture and let us know on Instagram or Twitter. Believe me when I say we've been keeping our eyes peeled.\nView this post on Instagram A post shared by Home Alone © Official (@homealoneofficial) on Nov 27, 2015 at 2:53pm PST\nI'm positive that I'm not the only person who is impatiently waiting for this movie to be ready for viewing.
