There are a ton of local home goods stores that are offering delivery services, but IKEA remains the go-to spot for Montrealers in need of furniture and homeware. So it will come as a relief that after weeks of closure, IKEA Canada has announced plans to begin curbside pickup in Quebec. If we are spending so much time at home, we may as well give our places a little facelift. Whether you're looking to spruce up your apartment after staring at the same objects for weeks or preparing for the upcoming moving season, Curbside Click & Collect could be a solution. For a $5 flat rate, shoppers all across Canada will be able to place their orders without having to worry about delivery times. IKEA notes that it has "implemented enhanced health and safety measures for Curbside Click & Collect, including:" "a completely contactless exchange between co-worker and customer; "enhanced physical distancing protocol across all operations; "personal protective equipment (PPE) for co-workers;" and "rigorous sanitization and cleaning of units and surfaces including loading carts." Curbside Click & Collect hours will vary according to location, according to the IKEA website. As you checkout, you will be able to find a time slot that works best for you. "Today, life at home is more important than ever, with many families across Canada adapting to a new normal, whether that’s home schooling or working full-time from home," the company writes in a statement.
