It Is Going To Snow Twice This Week In Montreal
Snow... in May...
I'm sorry to break your heart, Montreal, my heart is broken, too. According to The Weather Network, Montreal can expect not one but TWO days of snow this week.
In addition to rain throughout the work week, Tuesday and Thursday both have "snow-rain showers" in the forecast.
This heavy precipitation is likely part of the reason why Mayor Valerie Plante has, as flooding continues to sweep many parts of the greater Montreal area and threaten the downtown core.
TL;DR Montreal can anticipate a very wet week ahead, with at least two days of "snow-rain showers" expected to hit the region.
The snow is slated to begin this evening and continue into tomorrow. Despite a forecasted high of 12°, the colder evening temperatures likely mean we'll be waking up to the flurries tomorrow morning.
The Weather Network is calling the impending weather "snow-rain showers," meaning it will likely be very heavy and wet precipitation.
Wednesday it will only get up to 5° meaning we could see some of those "snow-rain showers" on Wednesday as well.
But even if we don't, it's still going to rain on Wednesday. All of this precipitation has me seriously worried about the state of flooding across the province, especially after seeing the Rivière du Nord first hand this weekend (video below).
Thursday also has "snow-rain showers" in the forecast, according to The Weather Network.
Hopefully, we can avoid some of this precipitation and flood waters don't rise throughout the week. And luckily, we have an amazing, sunny weekend to look forward to.
