TL;DR The Montreal Fire Department is warning people to avoid the area around the Saint-Leonard/Montreal-Nord train station due to a large building fire. Scroll down to see photos and a video captured by an MTL blog reader in the area.

The Montreal Fire Department put out the first tweet at 2:30 P.M., warning Montrealers to avoid the area.

They then followed up just before 3 P.M., warning again that there was a possible power outage expected in the area due to the fire and that the area should be avoided while the situation was dealt with.

The tweet above reads:

Building fire - JEAN-MEUNIER / INDUSTRIEL - Second alarm - Power failure possible. Please avoid the area.

In the photo and video below it is clear that it is a large fire, judging by the smoke cloud rising up from the building.

In the video below, you can see smoke billowing from the building in Saint-Leonard, which caused Twitter and Instagram users to take notice.

As per the tweets from the Fire Department, they are currently dealing with the fire and hopefully will have the situation under control ASAP.
