Montreal police will be knocking on doors in Old Montreal today to gather information about three violent events that took place in the area between July and September, according to a news release on the SPVM website. \nInformation that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators in these events will be rewarded with up to $10,000 by Sun Youth organization through an anonymous donor. \nEditor's Choice: Montreal Women Are The Stars Of This Powerful New Music Video For A Feminist Anthem\n\n\n$10,000\n\n\nReward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators\n\n\n\nThe SPVM will also set-up a mobile command post on September 24 at the corner of rue de la Commune and Place Jacques-Cartier between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.\n"Investigators invite anyone who has witnessed or believes to have information related to these events, or any other event in the area, to come and meet with them," said the release.\nThe first event was reportedly a mugging turned stabbing on July 13 around 12:20 a.m. near rue de la Commune and Place Jacques-Cartier.\n\nThe second event occurred on July 8 around 11:10 p.m. near 145, rue de la Commune when three unknown men allegedly surrounded three women and pointed a machete at them.\nThe third event took place on September 19 around 10:50 p.m. near Place D'Youville. Two men allegedly attempted to pick-up an intoxicated young woman and pulled a gun at bystanders who tried to stop them. \nPolice said citizens with information can also contact their neigbourhood police station or 911.\nThey can also contact the investigator directly, Detective Sergeant Frantz Jean-Louis, at 514-280-3756.
