Montreal is known for its extravagant demonstrations of holiday spirit. The city has dozens of Christmas-themed events both large and small, from this holiday pop-up car with a Grinch-themed menu to these three Christmas villages. Montreal is also host to some pretty spectaular private celebrations as well – none more anticipated, perhaps, than Sami Hajjar's annual Christmas Display, which often boasts more than 250,000 lights and dozens of other decorations. In the yard of his castle-like home, Hajjar's display appears like a fantastical, fairytale setting. Each year, crowds gather to witness and take part in the first lighting.
