Montreal's Old Port skating rink finally opens this weekend so it's time to pull our your skates!\nIt will also be the site of a firework show every Saturday in December.\nPlus, there's going to be a karaoke night!\nVisit MTLBlog for more headlines.\nOne of the best things about winter is skating outdoors. As Canadians, we're spoiled with ice rinks that let us skate all year long, but there's nothing quite like skating outside. Which is why I'm so excited Montreal's Old Port skating rink, the Patinoire du Vieux-Port, is finally opening on Saturday, December 7, 2019. It's one of the city's best spots to skate and hang out during the winter, whether you're from the city or just visiting — and it makes a fantastic cheap date night.\nAnd it's got some really cool stuff planned, as always, so don't think you'll just be going around in circles.\nThe rink, which is nestled into the Bassin Bonsecours, will be hosting three kinds of theme nights, including a karaoke night, Saturday night fireworks (which will run all through December), and DJ nights starting in the new year.\nIt's just another great way to beat the blues of winter, shake off the cold and get some exercise in Montreal as our days get shorter and the sun slinks away earlier.\nPlus, it provides an excellent spot for a date. You can skate around and then hop off the ice, grab a hot chocolate at the bistro, and warm up by a small bonfire.\nIf you don't have skates, don't worry, there are rentals on-site, so you can pick them up when you get there.\nAnd if you have your own skates, they also offer sharpening, so you can liven up those old blades that have been in the closet since last year.\nView this post on Instagram Vous avez jusqu’à dimanche pour venir profiter de la Patinoire Natrel avant sa fermeture pour la saison! ❄️ | Last chance: our Natrel skating rink is open until Sunday! . . . . #vieuxportmtl #oldportmtl #skating #winter #springiscoming #mtl #montrealjetaime A post shared by Vieux-Port de Montréal (@vieuxportmtl) on Mar 16, 2018 at 11:04am PDT\nStarting Saturday, December 7, 2019, the rink will be open every day of the week until 9 or 10 p.m., including Christmas Day.\nPlus, it'll be open until 1 a.m. on New Year's Eve.\nREAD ALSO: There's A Real-Life North Pole Village In Quebec & It's About To Open For The Holidays\nSeason passes are only $29 and will let you skate to your heart's content from December 7 until the rink closes in March.\nView this post on Instagram Bonne et heureuse année! | Happy New Year! #vieuxportmtl #oldportmtl A post shared by Vieux-Port de Montréal (@vieuxportmtl) on Dec 31, 2017 at 10:07pm PST\nBut you can always buy a day pass that is only $7.83 for anyone over 13 and $5.22 for kids ages 6 to 12.
