According to the police, this is 11th homicide this year in Montreal.\nAccording to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) spokesperson Manuel Couture, at around 1:00 a.m. on Friday morning, a fight broke out between several individuals.\nSaid individuals were in Théodore Park at the corner of Théodore and Hochelaga streets, near the Olympic Stadium.\nAccording to Couture, the fight, which began for unknown reasons, escalated when a suspect pulled out a gun and shot a 20-year-old man at least once in the chest.\nSpokesperson Manuel Couture said that, despite a quick response from police, paramedics declared the man dead on the scene.\nGoogle Maps\nThe major crimes unit has been called in to investigate the murder. At this time, the suspect has not been apprehended. The CBC reports that a K9 unit has been brought in to look for clues.\nNo arrests have been made at this time.
