Hide your kids, hide your wife, hide wherever you can because the scariest fictional characters have been roaming our streets. Pennywise, the terrifying clown from the movie It has been spotted in Montreal and we have a picture to prove it.

A Montrealer snapped a photo of the creature in the Hochelaga area and posted it to the Facebook group Hochelaga Mon Quartier, where the post went viral.

In a little less than 24 hours, the photo received hundreds of comments and was shared over 500 times. Montrealers don't agree on everything but everyone seemed to agree that this photo is this is straight-up scary.

We were able to identify the man behind the stunt.

Remember a few years ago when photos of frightening clowns drowned our social media feed…well this year, Julien Bauby has taken those fears to new heights.

Bauby runs Alinéa productions, a Montreal based event company that has decided to turn your nightmares into a very harsh reality.

Bauby told MTL Blog that Pennywise went around the city offering poutine to homeless people.

The sweet gesture is still slightly petrifying because let's face it, no one wants to come face to face with this disturbing clown. But I mean if there is poutine involved, I would consider it.

The video is actually pretty touching. Pennywise ties a balloon to each box of poutine before handing it to a person in need.

This is not the only character that Bauby has decided to bring to life. Freddy Kreuger, the clown from Saw and, the scariest of all, the girl from the movie The Grudge have all appeared in public in the last few weeks thanks to Alinéa.

Just imagine turning the corner on the Montreal metro and seeing this:

As if the metro wasn't scary enough already...

All of these characters are available to hire.

If you are hosting a Halloween party and want to rent one of these characters, then this is your chance to scare the living crap out of your guests.

Keep your eyes open for Pennywise and the rest of these characters because you never know when they may pop up! If you spot any of these characters around the city, snap a picture and let us know.

There are stories everywhere. If you spot a newsworthy event in Montreal, send us a message, photo, or video @MTLBlog on Twitter and Instagram.
