Attention all Outlander fans in Montreal: the one and only Sam Heughan, who plays the one and only Jamie Fraser, is currently in Montreal. Add him to thein the city for the summer.
The actor is working on the production Bloodshot, which a source informs us is in town to film reshoots. Heughan plays Corporal Harlan 'So Long' Shifflet alongside Vin Diesel, Eiza Gonzalez and a rumoured Guy Pierce.
The film is about a mobster who is killed and then re-animated, but this time with superpowers, according to IMDB.com. It's based on the graphic novels of the same name, published by Valiant Comics.
While we don't know how long the Outlander star is in town, there is no question whatsoever... he's as smitten with Montreal as we are with him... and those abs.
It looks like Heughan made his way into Canada last Friday, based on the tweet below sharing the oft-repeated sentiment that us Canadians are just so nice. Thanks, Sam, we try.
Then, yesterday, Heughan tweeted that Montreal might be his new favourite place... though of course, we've all got a soft spot for Scotland.
Honestly, if he loves it this much I must encourage him to stay... maybe, forever?
The Scot proved himself to be a pretty solid contender for the title of honourary Montrealer, too, considering it took him no time at all to hop on a BIXI and take a ride down by the canal.
It's moments like this that not only make me love stars like Heughan even more, for approaching our city the way we do, locally and on the ground... but it also has given me time to be grateful I live here, too.
Like, damn, Montreal... you really are the shit sometimes.
They were spotted out for dinner the other night at Montreal's Caribou Gourmand in the Mile End.
Outlander's fifth season is currently in production with a tentative release date set as "early next year," according to Starz COO Jeffrey Hirsch, who gave fans a light at the end of the Droughtlander tunnel.
