As Quebecers head into self-isolation, the SQDC tells MTL Blog that it has seen an increase in sales.\nDon't worry about any supply shortages, though!\nVisit MTLBlog for more headlines.\nAs cleaning wipes, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and non-perishable food items fly off the shelves, Quebecers are also apparently stocking up on small (green) comforts. An SQDC spokesperson confirms to MTL Blog that, "indeed, we have seen an increase in sales over the lasts days." The Crown cannabis retailer didn't tie this increase directly to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak or the hoarding behaviour seen across Montreal, but puffing on that good green while binge-watching Netflix and eating stocks of Oreos makes for a pretty decent self-isolation.\nBut as with other stores, don't expect to see any long-term shortages even if shelves at the SQDC are more sparse than usual.\n"For now, all our stores are opened during normal opening hours and our supply levels both online and in our stores are stable," the spokesperson told us.\nHe also let us know that the SQDC website "is fully functional and parcels are still being delivered."\nThat means customers do not need to leave their homes to get their hands on some marijuana in the city — which is a great thing for everyone that is following the government recommendation and practicing social distancing.\nView this post on Instagram A post shared by Société Québécoise du Cannabis (@la.sqdc) on Oct 18, 2018 at 8:27am PDT\nThe SQDC is "closely monitoring the situation" and inviting "all costumers returning from a trip abroad or who experience flu-like symptoms to do their shopping directly online."\nLast week, MTL Blog reached out to the SAQ to see if there was a similar spike in sales. A spokesperson let us know that they "have not seen a significant increase in our outlets."\nView this post on Instagram A post shared by Société Québécoise du Cannabis (@la.sqdc) on Oct 19, 2018 at 5:26am PDT\nThe Retail Council of Canada, meanwhile, told us that the country's supply chain is among the most secure in the world.\nSo though panic-buying has led to a strange lack of toilet paper, Quebecers can rest assured that supplies will be restocked soon.\nView this post on Instagram A post shared by Société Québécoise du Cannabis (@la.sqdc) on Oct 26, 2018 at 9:11pm PDT\nInformation on recommended hygiene practices during the pandemic is available on the government of Canada's website here.\nStay tuned for more updates on COVID-19 in Montreal.
