We Found Out The City Of Montreal's Astrological Sign And It Makes So Much Sense
Astrology can be applied to cities, right?
"Ville Marie" was founded in 1642 by the French colonial empire in an effort to assert dominance over the land. More specifically, the city was founded on May 17, 1642. This, for those of you unfamiliar with astrology, means that Montreal is technically a Taurus.
Can astrological traits be applied to cities? To be honest, I'm not even sure they apply to humans (though that's such a Virgo thing to say, amiright?). However, this skepticism is not gonna stop me from applying astrological traits to a city.
TL;DR Montreal is a Taurus and, despite my scepticism, I have to admit that it explains a lot.
Taurus is a sign known for both its stubbornness and sensuality. This sensuality goes beyond physical attraction (though Montreal is indeed a beautiful city when you can look beyond the potholes and orange cones).
A Taurus' sensuality includes an appreciation for all of the finer things in life: good food, good drink ,and beautiful things above all. It cannot be said that the city doesn't have all of the above.
Let's talk about the sign's notorious stubbornness. Montrealers know what they like (sunshine, poutine, free festivals) and what they hate (potholes, their mayors, bad poutine sauce), and nothing will ever change their minds on those subjects.
According to astrology.com, Tauruses "sometimes have trouble respecting authority, especially if asked to do something they think is pointless or should be done differently." RE: the separatist movement and Quebecers in general not having too much trust in their government.
Astrostyle describes Taureans as operating "at two speeds: either totally relaxed, or charging headfirst towards a target." Montreal is, indeed, a work-hard play-hard kind of city. We are either relaxing in the park or working hard to afford those Osheaga tickets.
I think I've convinced myself that, if Montreal was an astrological sign, it would definitely be a Taurus. But maybe I'm just reading too much into it...
Maybe now we can figure out Montreal's weekly horoscope...
