Every single STM client will be eligible for a $2,25 rebate for their next monthly pass. This is the result of a settlement regarding a class action lawsuit that was launched 8 years ago.

The lawsuit dates back all the way to 2007 when STM workers went on strike during the month of May. At the time, clients were inconvenienced by the service interruptions and this is their way of making up for it.

Starting August 20th, the new tariffs will be in effect. The STM encourages everyone to make note of the price they are paying to ensure they're getting the rebate. Should the rebate not be applied automatically, they ask that you keep your receipt so that you can get a refund.
