There Are 115,000 Potholes In Montreal
The worst pothole season in years.
As the snow melts and the warm weather slowly begins to return, Montreal enters the next phase of the year. No, I don't mean spring, I'm talking about "pothole season," and this year looks to be worse than any in the past.
Exacerbated by this winter's random temperature jumps/dips along with the large amounts precipitation, Montreal is going through something of a pothole epidemic, with more on the streets than ever.
To give you a rather shocking number that spells out the doom to be found on the city's streets, there are about 115,000 potholes in the City of Montreal, cites CTV, all of which can do serious damage to your car.
But while we could blame the weather for Montreal's influx of potholes, the city's infrastructure is truly to blame, as oft-used roadways simply aren't being fixed at a fast enough rate. There are 115,000 to fill up, though, so maybe we should cut the city some slack. Maybe.
What does that mean for you? Well, something tells me that if you're a driver in Montreal, you already know what's in store for you when you see a pothole-riddled street. Just make sure to keep your eyes peeled for new potholes (there a lot of new ones, after all) and know that we're all feeling the pain too.
