Quebec has already seen a bit of snow in certain areas, but the time for light dustings is officially over.

Météo Laurentides has officially announced the arrival of the first significant snowfall of the season.

A low pressure system coming from the Great Lakes will be bringing a lot of snow our way which is expected to start falling tonight and tomorrow.

The Laurentians are expected to receive 10cm of snow, while some of the higher hilltops are supposed to be hit with up top 15cm of snow.

This includes Sainte-Adèle, Saint-Donat and Mont-Tremblant.

If everything goes well, and if the temperatures remain steady, the ski hills will be able to start making snow as well, so that means we might see an early kick-off to the ski season!

In fact, Tremblant has already started making snow.

Luckily, Montreal shouldn't be hit with anything significant this week.

There is some snow in the forecast starting this afternoon until tomorrow night but depending on the temperature, it might fall as rain.
