A serious year of transition on the way.

Hockey season will be a bit different for the Montreal Canadiens in 2014-2015, as the team will reportedly not have an appointed captain, with no player wearing the team's 'C.'
TVA sports reports that the Habs will not be choosing an official captain, opting instead to make the season a "transition year." We're assuming that means the team will take the year to test out various players for the role of captain.
The no-captain news comes after days of speculation, a response to Brian Gionta move to the Buffalo Sabres.
Having to choose between captain-potentials like P.K Subban, Max Pacioretty, Andrei Markov, and Tomas Plekanec, picking a new captain must have been just too difficult for the team's management. Hopefully the decision to go captain-less is the right move, and won't create a strange team dynamic, with the role of official leader left void.
