TL;DR A Montreal Group is organizing a protest against the CAQ's proposed religious symbol ban. The demonstration is Sunday 3-6pm at Place-des-Arts.

These people are public school administrator, SAAQ employees, or even doctors at the local CLSC – just to name a few – that choose to wear religious symbols such as kippas or hijabs.

The talent and contribution of countless professionals in the public sphere will be ignored in favour of promoting secularism in Quebec. These valuable individuals will be outright fired if they refuse to comply with the new law.

Not only is this law anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic, but it also goes against basic human rights and individual freedoms to freely practice one's own religion. It needs to be stopped.

A group called "Contre la haine et le racism"(against hate and racism) have organized a protest downtown this week where thousands of Montrealers will be gathering to speak up and put a stop to the CAQ's religious symbol ban.
