The hype surrounding the NBA Finals this year is so great that, naturally, ticket prices have skyrocketed. In fact, tickets to the games in Toronto are now among the most expensive in NBA history.
SeatGeek and NewsTalk, a Toronto-based radio station, report that the average ticket price for Game 1 is a whopping $1,400 (USD) or about $1,880 (CAD) — the highest average price in NBA history. Tickets even at their lowest price are around $800.
Ticketmaster lists Game 1 as sold out, but wealthy fans can still purchase last-minute tickets through SeatGeek for just $691. Tickets to Game 2, also in Toronto, start at $716, though most seem to be well over $1,500.
There's no guarantee that the Finals will extend to 7 games, but if they do, tickets through SeatGeek to that final Toronto match are as expensive as $21,000. There appear to be no tickets for less than $1,900.
WarriorWire also reports that one person has paid $181,740 for 4 seats at the NBA Finals Game 4, which will be played in Oakland, California. Most tickets to Game 4 are over $1,000, the report states.
