Trump Might Have Finally Declared Himself To Be Everyone's Favourite President
Donald Trump is at it again!
In a tweet calling for a competition between television networks to decide which is the most "dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted", he appeared to be following a tradition that is well-known amongst tyrants--the practice of "illeism", referring to himself in the third person.
By referring to himself as "your favorite President", it seemed that he had finally decided to follow in the footsteps of Julius Caesar. However, he was unable to complete the effect. Perhaps, the temptation to be obvious spurred him to make it absolutely clear that he was referring to himself.
He ended up writing a "me" in brackets next to his description of himself.
He ended the quote by stating that the winner of the competition would receive a "FAKE NEWS TROPHY".
It is unclear whether his reference to himself as "your favorite President" stems from a sincere belief in his own popularity or from a conviction that those who didn't vote for him don't really exist and have been created by the fake news media.
