Violent Incidents Have Forced Montreal's Foufounes Electriques To Close
The law has spoken.
Montreal nightlife and youth playground institution Foufounes Electriques was summoned to court last month with 44 allegations weighing down on their shoulders.
They were charged, among other things, with "acts of violence" and "excessive force".
Testimonies of broken teeth, chokes, free kicks and nose injuries, for example, were heard. Subsequently, Foufounes received a 10-day license withdrawal.
According to counsel for the accused, the number of complaints is proportional to the operating hours of the establishment, since they are open 7 days a week. Being a nightlife business, their mission is to maintain order and peace, therefore the use of violence - according to them and their appeal, was considered necessary.
So - if you were considering hitting up Foufounes for their epic Thursday night specials, just know that it may be better to rain check for a later date.
