It used to be a rare occurrence, but now it's becoming a little too common.

More and more coyotes are being spotted on the island of Montreal, and this is the third time warnings have been issued.

3 weeks ago, information sessions were held to warn people not to feed the coyotes, because people had been doing it so much that the animals were becoming less afraid of humans. Some of them even began stalking people.

This week, there have been several sightings near the Saint-André-Apôtre elementary school in Ahuntsic-Cartierville. Coyotes have been spotted by a few students and even the school crossing guard. The school sent out notices to warn parent about the situation.

Over the summer at least 10 coyotes had to be trapped because they were getting too close to humans and two had to be killed.
