It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The time where we get another year’s worth of Google data to search through.\nBy studying these trends we can learn neat things about our country, things like: Who is the most googled celebrity, and who the hell is Harambe.\nREAD ALSO: Video Showing Man Ice Skating On The Streets Of Montreal After Freezing Rain\nThese are the important questions we should be asking.\nSo I spend hours plugging a ton of words into Google Trends , checking the top searched terms for each Canadian province and looking through Canada's top 5 searches according to topic. Here's what I found:\nThe Most Searched Term In Canada: Pokemon GO\nThis word messed up all the stats this year. That's because it was every single province's top search term, up on average by 3000%.\nMost Searched By Province:\nQuebec\nAs usual, "Poutine" was searched for by Quebec the most. Which is weird because we really should know everything there is to know about poutine by now. It's the other provinces who should be more curious.\nNunavut\nIt seems like Nunavut is the province that Googles "Trudeau" the most. But then again Nunavut ranked #1 in a lot of categories such as: Snow, Hockey, and Marijuana\nNewfoundland and Labrador\nNewfoundland and Labrador searched for "Anal Sex" the most, You naughty little province! We should rename you Newfoundland and Sodomy.\nOntario\nAlthough, Nunavut searched for "weed", "pot", and "marijuana" the most, Ontario were the ones who searched for "Legal Marijuana" the most.\nNova Scotia\nLooks like Nova Scotia were the most curious ones when it come to "Donald Trump".\nAlberta\nNova Scotians were curious about Trump, but Albertans are just curious about "Trump's Hair". They are the ones asking the truly important questions.\nYukon\nThis year, the Yukon searched for the word "Weather" the most, but can you really blame them?\nNorth-West Territories\n"Slitherio" was actually the #2 most searched term in most of Canada and #1 for the NWT. I have never heard that name before so I had to google it. Turns out it's a massively multiplayer browser game where you control a snake that eats pellets.\nManitoba\nLooks like Manitobans are the biggest illegal movie streamers in the country. They googled "123movies" more than anyone else.\nPrince Edward Island\nApparently it was the word "Kahoot" which is language learning software. So basically here in Canada we're the most boring people ever.\nNew Brunswick\nThere was absolutely nothing special about New Brunswick's searches, which is appropriate because there's nothing special about New Brunswick. (It's just a joke, calm down.)\nSaskatchewan\nAgain, the only thing Saskatchewans Googled, were games and movie streaming services, Get off the computer and go outside every once in awhile!\nBritish Columbia\nThe term BC searched the most was "Stranger Things". I was pretty impressed by this stat actually, especially since I didn't come across the name of any other TV show in any of my searches, which juts proves how popular Stranger Things really is. Now If you'll excuse me, I'm getting an Eggo.\nTop 5 Search Terms In Canada:\nCanadian Athletes\nPenny Oleksiak \tPK Subban \tAndre De Grasse \tSidney Crosby \tMichael Saunders\nCanadian Politicians\nRob Ford \tKellie Leitch \tBrad Wall \tDoug Ford \tKathleen Wynne\nCanadians\nDrake \tCéline Dion \tGord Downie \tLeonard Cohen \tPenny Oleksiak\nCelebrities\nDrake \tBeyoncé \tRihanna \tCéline Dion \tKanye West\nConsumer Technology\niPhone 7 \tSamsung Galaxy S7 \tSamsung Galaxy Note 7 \tGoogle Pixel \tNintendo Switch\nEconomy\nAlberta Economy \tCommand Economy \tDonald Trump \tChina Economy \t1920s Economy\nMusicians\nDrake \tBeyoncé \tRihanna \tCéline Dion \tKanye West\nSong Lyrics\nPanda \tOne Dance \t7 Years \tWork \tStressed Out\nWhat is?\nWhat is Brexit? \tWhat is Zika Virus? \tWhat is Microblading? \tWhat is Harambe? \tWhat is the Electoral College?\nWho is?\nWho is Harambe? \tWho is Ken Bone? \tWho is Ann Coulter? \tWho is the father of Bridget Jones' baby? \tWho is George Soros?\nAdd mtlblog on Snapchat.
