Today, the ever-famous Punxsutawney Phil has let the people know: spring will arrive six weeks early this year.

And groundhogs are always right about these things.

But what happens when they don't agree?

It looks like it's a classic case of the East Coast getting the shit end of the stick, especially weather-wise.

Yep, unfortunately, both Canadian groundhogs in Quebec and Nova Scotia have seen their shadow, meaning spring won't be coming early this year.

I have a feeling that if we're to believe the furry fellows, we must look to our own groundhog.

Punxsutawney Phil and Wiarton Willie are repping for their own hoods, and evidently, that shit just doesn't apply to us.

Nope, we're left with the prediction that spring will come late instead of early.

This is according to both Fred la Marmotte in Gaspé, QC as well as Shubenacadie Sam in Nova Scotia. 

What's with the Acadians just revelling in winter?!

Maybe it's just that our groundhogs are tougher... They're not afraid of a little more winter. 

I would care a lot less, too, if I knew I could just burrow back into my hole and hibernate for a couple more weeks.

In fact, I'd probably choose that option...
