It's no secret, there are way too many choices for restaurants in Montreal, this is clear from the 70 or so new restaurants that have opened so far in 2015. That isn't necessarily a bad thing unless you also consider the fact that about 50 restaurants have closed in 2015. This means that if you want to survive, you need to have near perfect reviews, no haters on Yelp, and preferably, a celebrity chef at the helm.\nBut one thing we lack in Montreal are themed restaurants. Places that offer you more than just food and drinks. We need more restaurants that offer a unique dining experience. Sure we have O'Noir, but that's pretty much it.\nThis restaurant is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. As part of the Villa Escudero Plantations and Resort in San Pablo City in the Philippines, the restaurant is built at the foot of a small waterfall. The entire place gets flooded and customers get to enjoy their meal with their feet in the water.\nIt not only creates a unique atmosphere and dining experience, but it also provides enough noise so that you don't have to overhear the neighbouring patron's conversations. In case you were wondering, the waterfall isn't just a decoration, people are encouraged to use it to cool off before or after their meal.\nPhoto cred - blessthisstuff\nOne thing's for sure, if they opened up one of these in our own backyard, it wouldn't exactly have much competition, and it would probably stay open longer than most restaurants in Montreal.
