The festival game has come a long way since the dawn of days like Woodstock. Even the first ever Osheaga was thirteen years ago, in September 2006. Nowadays, people travel far and wide to experience music fests like Coachella and Lollapalooza, so lineups are scrutinized now more than ever. And it seems that the much-anticipated Osheaga lineup has let down more than a couple fans. READ ALSO: Everything New Coming To Osheaga This Summer 2019 TL;DR People have been yearning for the Osheaga 2019 lineup, and now that it has dropped, the opinions are coming out... Some of the artists were teased yesterday and the full announcement was dropped today at noon. Before long, people took to Twitter to share their disappointment. #osheaga lineup gets a solid 3.5/10 this year — •kayla• (@kayla__danis) March 26, 2019 osheaga this year sucks as much as fyre fest — KAYLA (@kayypow) March 26, 2019 not impressed by the osheaga lineup — 🦋cathie🦋 (@lordcathard) March 26, 2019 The reality is that music is a subjective thing and people are inevitably going to have differing opinions. You can't please everyone. But Osheaga has been known for amazing lineups, year after year, so people definitely have high expectations at this point. Next year will mark a decade since I was excited about an Osheaga lineup. — Anthony Hansen // Vivi Hahn // HANSA (@hansainallcaps) March 26, 2019 No Black Keys or Greta Van Fleet at osheaga? No thanks... — Lucas G (@LucasGcalcio3) March 26, 2019 Was worried about missing out on Osheaga this year but nope LOL that shits looking lame af — T🌷 (@tiffnunes1) March 26, 2019 And with a pretty steep ticket price, it takes a solid handful of artists that really excite before people are ready to drop that kinda dough for a show. That said, Osheaga does have a lot of other perks that make buying a ticket worth it. The Hammock Village and the YUL Eat Garden are both notable perks that are coming back to the Jean Drapeau location this year. Osheaga 2019.... Honestly kinda weak :( pic.twitter.com/7dpmjELEpj — STEVE🍍MADDEN (@aidmaster69) March 26, 2019 Osheaga posting their lineup this year pic.twitter.com/irqIxK8pwF — GABRIELLE (@gabby2gucci) March 26, 2019 I can save so much money now wow thanks — Michael G (@MGnops) March 26, 2019 The other huge thing Osheaga has over some other American festivals? Weed is legal in Canada, and you're allowed to bring 30 grams into the festival this year. But even weed can't fix bands you don't like. The osheaga lineup keeps getting worse — coral 👻💀 (@c0rkiii) March 26, 2019 @osheaga with one of the worst lineups they’ve ever had and all the other festivals stepping up their game......... — Mack Young (@mackyoung19) March 26, 2019 Another criticism that was made a couple of times on Twitter is the number of female headliners. While Janelle Monae is going to be at Osh this year, she's not the main headliner on her night, which some people are seeing as an oversight. theres only one woman headliner.....@osheaga you could do much better — shona (@shonafrd) March 26, 2019 The Chemical Bros? WTF? Janelle Monae is the obvious Saturday headliner. Fix it. — jdaikman (@jdaikman) March 26, 2019 Are you excited for the lineup this year? Or is this year getting a pass?
