10 Things That The STM Need To Change, ASAP!
#5 makes the most sense.
Over the weekend we posted a story about how the listed the changes they would like to see.. These upgrades included the new metro cars, renovations, hybrid buses, bus lanes and an app to track buses. But our readers didn't seem too excited about the new changes and instead
Here are the changes YOU really want to see:
1. More Trains
"The frequency because they are never on time and sometimes we have to get to work late because of their fault"
There's nothing worse then getting up on time, getting to the metro on time and being delayed because you're stuck waiting for a train that takes forever to show up.
"Bathrooms would be sick"
Especially considering the amount of times people get caught urinating there. Likeand .
3. Overnight Service
"24 hours open"
At this point the price of a monthly pass would almost be reasonable. Think of all the cab/uber money you'd save.
"Elevators in every station"
For the elderly, the people with reduced mobility and of course for me, because I'm really lazy.
5. Wheelchair Access
"Make every station Wheelchair accessible"
This seems like a no brainer. Right now there are only 9 stations with wheelchair access. 9!
6. Do Something about the homeless
"Take the homeless out.... ALL OF THEM! (...) as loitering is forbidden"
Not by putting resources and assistance.of course, but by providing them with
7. Stop Price Increases
"If the STM will invest 2.7 billion then it's obviously the will jack up the prices so I would say leave it as it is thank you STM."
Obviously some of you would prefer if things would remain the way they because with change often comes fare increases.
8. Better service for anglophones
"English lessons for the employees."
It's amazing to me that you can work in the public service industry without being able to speak more than one language.
9. Lower fares
"Put it back 50 cents for kids and 1$ for adults ..."
This may be a bit unrealistic, but doesn't hurt to dream.
10. Accurate Schedules
"Would change the schedules for REAL ACTUAL TIMES..."
The reason buses aren't showing up is simple there aren't enough buses. And it wouldn't hurt to have timer at every metro station that would tell you when the next train is going to show up.
