Our hometown superstar has spoken out about the current health crisis. In a video posted to Instagram, Céline Dion encouraged her fans to stay positive and offered some heartfelt gratitude to essential workers. She appears to have filmed the video in a room in her own home, where, she has said, she is staying with her family. "Most of us have been asked to remain at home, but there are so many heroes out there around the world who are going to work every single day risking their lives and sometimes sacrificing their lives for the rest of us," she says. "These people have families and loved ones who they're worried about but they still go out to work to save us — to serve us." "We cannot thank all of you enough." It's the first time since the beginning of the crisis that Céline has made an appearance to speak on the issue. She previously postponed several concerts on her Courage World Tour after falling ill with the common cold. On March 19, she posted an open letter to fans explaining that she and her family "are taking all the necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy." Dion and her team have also posted regularly to Facebook, sharing retrospectives on her career and asking followers to #StayHome. It's a message she reiterated in her video Wednesday.
