Okay, I don't like lying to you guys, so I'll be straight-up: summer in Montreal so far has been a little bit... underwhelming.

Not because we don't have any awesome events or super fun things to do, because there is something fun going down in this city literally every single day. Nope, I'm blaming the suspicious lack of summer vibes on one thing: the weather.

TBH, it's kind of difficult to drink sangria on a terrasse when it might just start pouring rain at any second. But no worries! That was June. We're now in July, which is when the true summer fun begins in Montreal.

This month, there are a whole bunch of super fun, free things to in Montreal, including a whole lot of festivals, sidewalk sales, celebrations, and tons more! So, friends, prepare to finally live out summer in all of its glory.

July 1 - 8, 2017:

On July 1, celebrate Canada Day and check out the huge festivities in the Old Port (including fireworks!) on from 11:00 AM - 10:20 PM.


Then cap off the celebrations by checking out the giant Night Market block party in the Mile End, featuring live DJs, food trucks, and more!


Then, on July 4, get yourself to the Jazz Festival's free outdoor stage and enjoy a live performance from Walk Off The Earth.


Love sidewalk sales? Then head over to the Plaza St-Hubert on July 5, for their huge Atmosph'air sur la Plaza sidewalk sale.


On July 7, celebrate Montreal's food truck culture at the First Fridays food truck event.


Then burn off those food truck gains at the Ladies Shop Ride 25 km bike ride that same day.


On July 8, check out free vegetarian food, a parade, and yoga workshops at Montreal's Festival of India.


That same day, get yourself to Parc Jean-Drapeau and celebrate Jamaica at Montreal's Jamaica Day 2017.


Throughout the month, get into summer vibe at the public Village au Pied-du-Courant beach.


On July 8, prepare to celebrate Montreal's Caribbean culture at the Carifiesta 2017.

Then head out to Porsche Prestige for their annual Cars & Coffee event.


That same day, head on out to Parc Jean-Drapeau for their Weekends Du Monde - Mexique 2017 festival.


If the circus is totally your jam, then check out this free outdoor circus performance on July 11 at Place Aux Performances.


Graphic novel lovers, get yourselves to Drawn & Quarterly for for their Graphic Novel Book Club meetup, focusing on the novel Boundless, on July 12.


Also on July 12, check out this free outdoor yoga class at Place Emilie-Gamelin. 


On the weekend of July 14, make sure to get yourself to St. Catherine Street for their huge sidewalk sale/street festival.


Then, on July 15, check out the Festival Venezuela at Park Jean-Drapeau.

Wednesday evenings throughout the month, get yourself to the McCord Museum and enjoy free admission. 


On July 16, make sure you stroll over to Parc Baldwin for their free park yoga event.


Then head down to Parc Jean-Drapeau, for their Week-ends du Monde: Carnaval d'été brésilien edition. 


Keep up that fit life on July 17, and stroll over to Parc Lafontaine for a free Swedish Fit class.


Then ruin everything (except for your sense of fun) on July 22, at L'Abreuvoir's Beats & BBQ event.


Get your fix of fascinating Canadian architecture Thursdays after 5:00 PM, and check out the Canadian Centre for Architecture for free.


Leisurely stroll through Sherbrooke Street in downtown Montreal, and check out the newest art exhibit lining the street. 


On July 22, head on out to downtown Montreal/the Old Port/the South Shore, and watch France's beautiful fireworks show for free.


While you're there, make sure to watch history come alive at the Old Port's beautiful Cite Memoire outdoor light show.


Feed your need for music on July 22, and check out Full Sevis' free show at the Quartier Des Spectaces.

While the summer's in full swing, head on out to Atwater Market and admire all the gorgeous flowers. 


On July 25, check out the Repercussion Theatre's performance of Much Ado About Nothing.


During the month, get yourself to Montreal's Gay Village and walk under the gorgeous Aires Libres "rainbow balls" installation.


Then stroll over to Montreal's outdoor "beer garden" for some seriously good vibes. 


Make sure to get yourself there on July 26, when you can check out free outdoor yoga at the Jardins Gamelin.


If you've got a whole lot on your mind, then end the month fresh by checking out Montreal's Vent over Tea listening service.


On July 29, get in touch with your spiritual side and check out the Metaphysical Show of Montreal.


Love museums? Then I've got some good news - on the last Sunday of the month (so, July 29) you can enjoy free admission to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.


And on July 30, be prepared to bring out your inner cyclist, with free BIXI bikes in Montreal.


On July 29, celebrate Montreal's vibrant Moroccan community and check out the Fete Nationale du Maroc at Parc Jarry.
