5 Reasons Why Montreal Needs Archery Tag Right Now
This is our next target.
Montreal has entertainment options of every kind, from laser tag to paint ball to extreme sports. All it's missing is one very important new game: Archery Tag! Combining the allure of childlike dodgeball fun with the awesomeness of bows and arrows, Archery Tag is a fast growing entertainment game spreading around the world. And how could it not?
Two teams are pitted against each other trying to hit each other with foam-tipped arrows and knock out designated targets. Here's a few reasons why we can't wait to see Archery Tag right here in Montreal.
1. It's painless
Yes, many Montrealers are willing to take a hit, whether it's at the hockey rink or on a paintball course. But, it would be nice to have a less dizzying alternative to laser tag when we want to make sure we survive a fun activity without bruising. Archery Tag is played with patented non-lethal arrows which are said to be virtually pain free.
2. We can relive our favourite movies and shows
Who doesn't want to channel their inner Rambo or Katniss? Perhaps you want to play the part of Daryl from The Walking Dead instead (I know, I know, he carries a crossbow). Or maybe Hawkeye or Legolas is more your game. The possibilities are (nearly) endless.
3. It's healthy entertainment
We live in a beautiful and active city, so if you can combine a workout with some pure play, why not go for it? From run and gun rapid fire dashes to carefully selected sniper spots, everyone is bound to find that playing tag with 25 pound recurve bows is a heart-racing good time. It combines basic strength and cardio with some awesome hand-eye coordination training. Reflexes will be tested - especially if catching an arrow means eliminating an opponent and saving yourself!

4. It's easy, safe and clean
Archery tag doesn't require loads of safety equipment. In fact, most players use nothing more than a light face mask. Cleaning up after a match won't involve washing off the mud, grime and soapy paint you find yourself covered in after a game of paintball. Granted, if you play in a muddy field results may vary, but overall, most indoor and outdoor Archery Tag courses seem to be mess-free zones.
5. Because we can't let Toronto have this all to themselves.
Montreal is greater than Toronto. It's a fact right? Archery Tag has reached TO. We can't be falling behind now.

While that video was shot in Australia I'm confident that we here in Montreal can do it even better. How could anyone say no to that?
