Big adventures and beautiful sights.
Guys, it's summertime. While for a lot of people - myself included - this means chilling on a terrasse, getting turnt, and just basically enjoying life, for some of us, it also means adventure. It means exploring. It means travelling, being one with nature, all that fun stuff.
And, thankfully, our beautiful province has tons of awesome places to go out and do just that. Especially if you're into the natural beauty and wonder of waterfalls. That's right, friends. You don't have to travel far to surround yourself with the good vibes that waterfalls provide; Quebec's got tons of breathtaking waterfalls, and here are just a few of the many.
1. Chute Montmorency
If you're at all into waterfalls, then the chances are very high that you know about Quebec's Chute Montmorency. Without a doubt, these are one of the more popular waterfalls in Quebec - and for good reason. The view here is unlike anything you've ever seen before, hands down.
The park surrounding the falls - Parc de la Chute-Montmorency - also has some pretty sweet activities, like zip-lining, hiking, and a whole lot more. Oh, and here's a little quick fact for you guys: Montmorency Falls even happens to be higher than Niagara Falls. You know. Just saying.
2. Chutes Sainte Anne
One of the things I love the most about this spot? The fact that the waterfall is located right inside the Canyon Sainte-Anne. That's right, friends. Not only do we have one unbelievably gorgeous, fantastic waterfall, right in our backyard, but we've also got one impressive canyon to go along with it.
For those of us looking for a little bit more adventure, the canyon offers hiking trails - complete with three suspension bridges - that'll take you through the area, and offers an unparalleled view of the waterfall. So if you're in the mood to explore nature, drop everything and get yourselves here, ASAP.
3. Chutes De Sainte Ursule
Alright, friends, get ready for one seriously fun summertime experience. If you're willing to make the very short drive out to Sainte-Ursule (we're talking, like, under two hours), then you'll be rewarded with one of the most breathtaking waterfall views you'll ever see.
That's not all there is for you to enjoy, though. Parc des Chutes De Sainte Ursule also features chalets for rent, a suspension bridge, spaces for picnics, and much, much more. So, grab your BFFs, hop in the car, and prepare for one seriously awesome time.
4. Chutes Coulonge
Roughly a four hour drive away from Montreal, checking out the Coulonge Chute is pretty much the most fun you can have this summer. Like, bar none. Hands down.
First of all, this breathtaking waterfall is unbelievably beautiful to see; and if you're a lover of nature, you're going to instantly fall in love with this site, too. But the waterfall - located in Coulonge Park - isn't the only attraction. The park is chalk full of super fun activities, like zip-lining, walking trails, camping, and a whole lot more.
5. Chutes De Plaisance
Containing a Canadian historical site, Plaisance Falls are the perfect place take that history lover in your life out on a little trip - especially considering it's under two hours away from Montreal by car.
But even if you're not into history, Plaisance Falls should be next on your list of gorgeous Quebec places to adventure to. With lookouts, viewpoints, picnic areas, and activities, this spot is legit the perfect place to go and spend a peaceful, awesome summer day with friends or family.
6. Chutes Waber
Chutes Waber, located in Quebec's La Mauricie National Park, is about a two hour drive from Montreal. But the short drive time isn't the only thing that makes it a perfect road trip destination, though.
The falls are honestly spectacular; they look like something out of a painting. The fact that they're located right inside one of Canada's National Parks is pretty much the cherry on top, too, because it means that you're surrounded by activities and super fun things to do. Protip, though? Pack a cooler and a picnic, for extra fun road trip vibes.
7. Chute Vaureal
Located on L'Île-d'Anticosti, it's true that this waterfall is a little bit further away than most on this list. You've got to drive for a while, and get on a ferry, in order to get here... But, honestly, that just makes the road trip that much more fun.
Plus, Chute Vaureal (and all of L'Île-d'Anticosti) is more than worth the drive time. Seriously, this spot looks like it came straight out of a fantasy movie. It's so gorgeous, you legit won't believe your eyes; and L'Île-d'Anticosti is a perfect place to go hiking, too. 8. Chutes De La Chaudiere
To be totally honest with you guys, when I first heard of this spot, I kind of had to double check to make sure it was actually in Quebec. I felt like if there was something this beautiful in my own province, I would have been well aware of it.
But nope. Before visiting, I had no idea that something so gorgeous existed, right in my own backyard. And mot only is this spot seriously beautiful - only a two and a half hour drive out of the city - but there are also tons of things to do in the park surrounding the falls.
