Montreal Is Hosting "Scottish Festival" At Parc Arthur-Therrien This Summer
There will be meat pies, delicious fish 'n' chips and BEER!
It's time to practice your log throwing, tune 'dem bagpipes (wait, can you even tune a bagpipe?) and prepare for plenty of up-kilt action, because the 38th edition of the Montreal Highland Games & Festival is taking place from August 1-3 at Parc Arthur-Therrien.
The event will feature lots of fun activities like massed bands, fiddle demonstrations, dancing shows and competitions, drum fanfares and best of all, a giant beer tent! Full schedule here.
Traditional athletic competitions will of course include all your favorite forms of throwing stuff - Throwing stones, throwing weights, throwing sheafs (bundles of grain or straw), and cabers, light hammers, and brace yourselves, heavy hammers!
Get your fill of all your favorite traditional Scottish dishes as well, including Scotch eggs, meat pies and delicious fish 'n' chips. You'll also be able to purchase a wide variety of kilts, bagpipes, jewelry, accessories and souvenirs on site so you too, can be officially Scottish for the day.
