Montreal Must-See Shows To Kick Off December 2013
Montreal's best musical acts this month.
While the rest of the city is getting ready for the holidays, we're getting ready for another month of awesome shows in the city. The world of music doesn't slow down for anything- not even Christmas!
Pink and The Hives @ The Bell Center
Tuesday December 3rd
Why you’re going: Pink headlined the Bell Center last spring (with opening act The Hives) and completely blew the crowd away. Between her diverse set list, her stellar vocals, & her outta-this-world acrobatics, the second show is one not to be missed!
Straight No Chaser and Caroline Glaser @ Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier
Thursday December 5th
Why you're going: Straight No Chaser get their inspiration from all the big names in music. From The Beatles to Sinatra, they've got it covered. Not to mention there are about a dozen of them on stage, so you're never running out of things to see or hear!
DieselBoy and Kytami @ Cabaret Underworld
Thursday December 5th
Why you're going: Aren't Thursday nights for electro, dance, & overall good times? Of course they are, and this is just the show to get you energized and ready for the upcoming weekend.
Lindi Ortega & Devin Cuddy @ Quai des Brumes
Thursday December 6th
Why you're going: Rock/Folk songstress Lindi Ortega is bound to win you over with her debut album 'Tin Star,' out now! This gal has such a distinct sound we guarantee you fall in love with her live show as much as you will her record.
HEADS UP and Eprom, Grenier, Construct, Wally, Living Stone @ Le Belmont
Saturday December 7th
Why you're going: Enjoy the first weekend of the month with this electro, hip-hop, glitch-hop, acid crunk night of Montreal (and abroad!) music.
MGMT @ Metropolis
Monday December 9th
Why you're going: As if MGMT even need an introduction... This is hands down going to be one of the biggest must-sees of the month. Get your tickets before they sell out!
Serena Ryder @ Corona Theatre
Wednesday December 11th
Why you're going: If her song 'What I Wouldn't Do' wasn't stuck in your head for days on end, you obviously haven't given this alternative/pop singer enough of a chance. Not only was her single on every radio station all the time, but it earned its place among the pop hits. Hell, that entire album? Just go. Listen now.
Three Days Grace @ Metropolis
Wednesday December 11th
Why you're going: Every single time Three Days Grace come around Montreal, they put on one heck of a stellar show. These punk/rockers know exactly how to get a crowd jumping up & down, and they play all the fan favorites!
Moist @ Metropolis
Saturday December 14th
Why you're going: This Canadian alternative/rock band has already been around for over two decades, and is fronted by none other than David Usher himself. Feeling like an evening of Montreal music? This one's for you.
Bam Margera @ Cabaret Underworld
Wednesday December 18th
Why you're going: YEAH, Bam Margera is coming! He's bringing a bunch of awesome bands with him too. The Fuckface Unstoppable tour... Let's do this, Montreal!
The Devil Wears Prada, The Ghost Inside, Volumes, Texas in July @ Club Soda
Thursday December 19th
Why you're going: The Devil Wears Prada have a new album, 8:18, out now. If you're into hardcore/metal, they're really the cherry on top of this entire tour. Get your mosh-pit-face on!
Cosmic Gate, BT @ New City Gas
Saturday December 21st
Why you're going: These progressive trance DJ's are heading to NCG and we promise it's going to be another stellar night. Is it even possible for this place NOT to sell out and be a kick-ass time? Don't think so.
Machine Gun Kelly, Tommy Kruise, Nation Ruckus @ Club Soda
Sunday December 22nd
Why you're going: His debut hip-hop album 'Lace Up' got rave reviews across the web, and he calls his genre 'revolutionary.' We bet you're at least a little curious about Machine Gun Kelly if you didn't already know who he was. Tommy Kruise and Nation Ruckus are solid opening acts too, so make sure you don't miss out!
NEON NYE feat. Chromeo @ Theatre Telus
Tuesday December 31st
Why you're going: Chromeo just might be one of the biggest, most influential duos to come out of Montreal... AND they're headlining a wicked NYE party. It is going to be such a great night jam packed with amazing talent, there's no way you'll find somewhere better to spend the last few hours of 2013!
