View this post on Instagram My alter ego living her luxury life đ° - - - - - - - I think what we as humans crave the most is overcoming separateness. What we usually want is to be deeply understood for who we are. And part of that is starting from just understanding our own selves. We can be surrounded by nice things, beautiful cars, great clothes, etc. but that wonât cut it in the long term. The best feeling is to be able to be seen. There is nothing that beats having that connection with someone and knowing that you are completely safe in being just who you are. Vulnerability is not a weakness. I used to always think that the more I kept to myself, the more I showed just the happy side of me, the more people would feel comfortable around me. I feared making others live through my bad moments by opening up but as soon as that shift happened and I started to open my heart, I felt more liberated. I felt more connected to others and to myself. I released the fear of being judged for how I expressed myself, for what I preferred and for how I felt. Thereâs a certain stigma over expressing the opposite side of positive emotions which I encourage us to break. Feeling mad, sad, angry, frustrated is all part of being human and I think itâs truly liberating to feel the whole spectrum of emotions without experiencing guilt. Emotions and the freedom in experiencing them and expressing them is what makes us connect to each other and our human nature through compassion and understanding. People might judge you for it, not understand your emotions, feel uncomfortable, but the right kind of people will stay and your connection will grow stronger. The separation of âthemâ versus âmeâ goes away when you are just aligned with your truth. Honor yourself and be open, thatâs how you will bridge the gap in all your interactions. âą âą âą #authorsofinstagram #book #instagram #montreal #ritzcarlton #poets #thoughts #poetryporn #writersnetwork #literature #instagood #instapoetry #story #motivation #writingprompts #luxe A post shared by Riti Rayna (@ritirayna) on Aug 2, 2019 at 8:33pm PDT Check out our list of high tea spots in Montreal here!
