Knowing that February is the month of love, and being in love can tend to be expensive, MTL Blog decided to make a list of cheap date ideas in Montreal during this month. Check out our ideas below! Visit MTLBlog for more headlines. February may be one of the coldest months of the year, but it also happens to be the most romantic. Not only because it's the time of Valentines' Day, but also because of the glistening snow that covers our city during this time. People tend to think that in order to make a memorable Valentine's Day, it requires you to spend a pretty penny. But this is wrong, which is why I'm here to give you a list of cheap date ideas in Montreal that won't cost you more than $25. We need to forget the idea that romance is about lavish gifts, bouquets of flowers and pricey dinners. Romance is about spending time with the person you care about. Taking the time to organize something fun that they would enjoy is an act that rarely goes unnoticed. And, this month, why not spend more than one day showing your appreciation to your partner? Especially if you can go on dates that won't break the bank. Yes, it may be cold but that's what coats, gloves, and hats are for. And, if that's not enough, you can keep each other warm! Romance is still alive folks, and it can be found while doing these dates. Sit By The Fire With Mulled Wine At Les Jardineries MERCI MERCI MERCI 💚💛 Hier c’était la dernière soirée des jardineries. OUI OUI grosse nouvelle, on sera de retour en janvier en mode hivernal 🤩Posted by Les Jardineries on Saturday, October 12, 2019 Where: 4115 Pierre-de Coubertin ave.; Olympic Park What can be more romantic than drinking mulled wine, by a fire, with the person you love and your dog? Nothing, if you ask me. Les Jardineries will remind you why winter is the most magical season. And, it's free to get in and the drinks are affordable —score! Check out the Facebook page Go Skating At Beaver Lake's Musical Nights Where: 2000 Remembrance Rd.; Beaver Lake View this post on Instagram Ça, c’est ma nouvelle vie, ça ❄️⛄️🧚🏻♀️ // #outdoors #winter #photooftheday #montreal #djadja #canada #travel #explore A post shared by c a r o l i n e ⚫️ (@carolinegianinazzibost) on Jan 31, 2019 at 4:51pm PST Skating on Beaver Lake is always romantic, but imagine doing exactly that, but with music? Turns out you can! If you bring your own skates, then it's completely free. If not, then it will cost you $8 after 6 p.m. and $10 before to rent some. This fun-filled event screams romance and just so happens to be a great activity to get you through the weary month of February. It’s Epic, bloated a bit, loose but endless craft on display and delicious scenery chewing all over. It’s Marty’s greatest hits and everyone came to play. Should clean up award season, Pacino Oscar or bust! A post shared by Matt Thomas (@mattthomasmtl) on Nov 15, 2019 at 1:44pm PST I need to confess something. My first date ever was at Dollar Cinema and it was the most romantic thing my 14-year-old self could have imagined. The reality is that movies have gotten really expensive. Dinner and a movie can end up costing you more than expected, especially if you want to treat your date to something sweet. That is why this movie theatre is epic. It may only have two screens and display second-run movies but who cares, the tickets will only cost you a few bucks and you will even be able to treat your sweetheart to as many sweet snacks as they want. And what is more childlike than jumping on a trampoline? This is a way you and your love can literally leap into one another, in the most dramatic of ways. This February, you can warm up your muscles and show off your skills, or lack of, while feeling like a child again. The affordable date will cost you $10.99 for 30 minutes and $14.99 for 60 minutes. This activity is both romantic and exhilarating, a combination that makes for a guaranteed perfect date. And, to make it even better, it's super affordable. And if you are one of those rare people that own their own tube, the activity will be even cheaper. On another note, anyone want to hook me up with 5” studded tires? 🥶 #velominati A post shared by Henri (@henki) on Nov 28, 2019 at 5:56pm PST Snowshoeing was something that always seemed like a strange activity to me — until I tried it for myself. This may not seem like the most romantic date you can go on but don't knock it until you have tried it. I used to not be a fan of snowshoeing, and when I actually tried it for myself and I saw it was a really fun thing to do, especially if you want to get the full experience of Montreal winter. If you end up making it all the way up to the cross, you'll know exactly why I love it so much! The romantic aura that fills the space makes it a great place for a date. And, for the hopeless romantics reading this that want to make it extra special, you can pack a thermos with hot chocolate and sip on it as you stroll through the park. Everything from the snow-covered trees to the frozen pond will give you the feeling of being the star of a romance novel. Paint Ceramics Where: 4338 Saint-Denis St.; Céramic Café View this post on Instagram I don't know the character for "almost financially independent but still dumb and in debt" so i wrote "wealth" instead. Pretty much the same thing. #wordsmith A post shared by Guillaume: (@_frasian) on Mar 8, 2018 at 7:28pm PST There are a few places in Montreal where you can paint ceramics. I always tend to go to Céramic Café on Saint-Denis, however. This cool space allows you to create anything your heart desires. This affordable date will allow you to make each other a gift instead of buying it. Each piece you paint is a different price and you can even get snacks and coffee, so yes it has the potential of going over $25 if you allow it. Check it out Serenade Your Boo With Some Karaoke Where: 2001 Rosemont Blvd.; The Small Box Karaoke Bar View this post on Instagram Parce que ma «famille choisie» c’est aussi ma famille tout simplement. #leclanrobi #brothers A post shared by Stephanie Robi (@stephanierobi) on Mar 16, 2019 at 10:17pm PDT Instead of writing your loved one a card, why not serenade them in true Hollywood fashion? By this I mean, with some karaoke. This will not only get you out of your comfort zone but it's a really cute way of showing someone you care. Even if you are too shy to sing, just being there will ensure that you will have a fun and lively date, without breaking the bank, of course. The vivacious images come to life in the most theatrical and romantic way. Not many good dates begin with walking through dark alleyways, although this one is a little different. The mesmerizing projections will give you chills. It also happens to be a great backdrop for a movie-like kiss. However, last year, after a snowstorm, I forced my husband outside, and the two of us built a snowman together. This memorable date not only allowed us to connect with one another but it gave us a chance to reconnect to that kid that still lives deep within us. We not only built a killer snowman but we also had a few snowball fights, drank hot chocolate and shared a bunch of snowy kisses. Building a snowman cost nothing and is one of the sweetest and most memorable date ideas. Try it! Check Out The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Where: 1380 Sherbrooke W.
