With summer in full effect, now's the time to start enjoying the fun-filled city that we're all lucky enough to call home. And, from now until October, you can visit Montreal's new drive-in theatre whenever you want to have a movie date night. I went to check it out for myself, and let me tell you, it was as fun and retro as I imagined it would be.

The website tells us that this site was created to "host movies, live bands, comedy shows, graduation ceremonies, corporate & charity events."

Located on Decarie, the entrance is found on Chemin Royden, which is a little hard to miss — so just make sure to look at the signs that are in place to help guide you.

From the moment you drive through, you will instantly feel like you have taken a drive back in time, which I personally loved.

The line up of cars, families, and groups of friends chatting while socially distanced reminded me of how awesome our city really is, no matter the circumstances.

As you drive into the theatre, the staff guides you to a parking spot, where your vehicle will remain throughout the entire movie.

I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth everything went.

As the movie began to play I was astonished by how clear both the picture and sound were, especially since it's situated right next to the highway

The film I got to watch was one of my favourites, Almost Famous, with Kate Hudson.

Although I had seen the movie countless times, it just seemed to be a better experience watching it while parked in my car.

You also have the option to bring chairs and sit outside.

The snack carts came directly to the cars, stocked with things like popcorn, candy, and cotton candy plus water, Powerade, and slush puppies all for sale.

They also had Java U and Lucille's food trucks for anyone looking for more of a meal.

All you need to do is place your order online and pick up your order at the food trucks window at the indicated time.

When the movie ended, the staff safely directed vehicles out of the lot in an organized and timely fashion, which again was appreciated.

There's no doubt in my mind that I would go back to this drive-in theatre.

With every purchase, the theatre donates a portion of sales to The Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation.

All in all, I give this experience solid two-thumbs up.
