Nuit Blanche Montreal 2020 is officially a week away, as the festivities start the evening of February 29 and go into the wee hours of March 1. So, MTL Blog decided to make a list of all the free things going on to let you start planning your night ahead of time! Visit MTLBlog for more headlines. Nuit Blanche Montreal 2020, one of the most anticipated winter events that features tons of free things to do around the city, is officially happening in one week's time. From art, dance, circus performance, and even curling, you'll be sure to find something that piques your interest if you attend Nuit Blanche. This year's edition of Nuit Blanche is expected to be bigger and better than ever! Nuit Blanche has been attended by close to 300,000 people every single year — making it the most-attended single-night event in the city. For the 17th edition this year, dubbed "Nuit Blanche verte" festival organizers are presenting events and workshops with a renewed focus on environmentalism and ecological living. Everyone's favourite winter party takes place on Saturday, February 29. Once again, Nuit Blanche has partnered with the STM to provide all-night metro service so revellers and nighthawks alike have a safe ride home. Nuit Blanche is the headlining event of the Montréal en Lumière festival, a week-long celebration of local gastronomy and fun winter activities. MTL Blog has come up with 11 incredible free things to do at this year's Nuit Blanche! There's a little bit for everyone here and since the metro is open all night, you can do it all! For the complete list of Nuit Blanche events, please visit its official website. Don't miss out. Hieroglyphics Workshop View this post on Instagram Qui était-elle? We know very little about Nestawedjat and her three coffins before they arrived at the British Museum in 1880. The name Nestawedjat is inscribed in hieroglyphs on each coffin and, as with most ancient Egyptian names, it has a meaning: “The one who belongs to the wedjat eye.” Also known as the Eye of Horus, the wedjat was a symbol of protection and healing.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #MBAM #MMFA #momiesmtl #momiesegyptiennes #momies #egyptianmummies #egypt⠀ ⠀ Cercueil intérieur de Nestaoudjat, XXVe dynastie, vers 700-680 AEC, EA 22812a. ⠀ © The Trustees of the British Museum Photo MBAM, Denis Farley⠀ ⠀ Inner coffin of Nestawedjat, 25th Dynasty, about 700-680 B.C.E., EA 22812a. ⠀ © The Trustees of the British Museum Photo MMFA, Denis Farley A post shared by Musée des beaux-arts (@mbamtl) on Feb 1, 2020 at 7:12am PST When: 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. Where: 1379, rue Sherbrooke O.; Montreal Museum of Fine Arts For a calmer and more historical night out, consider this unique hieroglyphics and papyrus making workshop at the Musée des Beaux-Arts!
