YUL EAT will include a food market with 20 vendors and 10 bars in the Quartier des Spectacles. There will also be events throughout the city Visit MTLBlog for more headlines. Just when it seems like the main food festivals will be wrapping up for the season, there is one lone festival that stands above the rest, a festival that brings gourmands and foodies the most unequivocal, mouth-watering pleasure. And that is the YUL Eat Festival. From September 9 to 15, the Quartier des Spectacles will be transformed into an epicurean heaven filled with the best, the tastiest, the most delicious food and alcohol Montreal has to offer. It's one full week where Montreal really gets to flex her culinary muscles and show that we are a city home to some major talents and can compete with the big (restaurant) boys. The festival is all about tastings, workshops, music, demonstrations and will have major theme nights that include the "Parcours Gourmand" tasting experience; a look into Mexican cuisine at the "¡Destinación México!" and peek into the food trends of tomorrow with "A Taste of the Future." While the theme nights will cost you the price of a ticket, they are worth every penny. But if you don’t feel like shelling out the money, there are over 100 free activities to take part in. This is truly the one and only destination for foodies. The "Parcours Gourmand" is really the event not to miss. Cost isn't cheap, starting at $75 per ticket, but this is an "unparalleled tasting experience in Montreal." And at least 10 of those will serve alcohol. You also get a front-row pass to four culinary demonstrations. The Birona Hummus Bar will teach a masterclass cooking workshop on how to create a gourmet meal for a group if you're tight on time and money! But it's $80 for the class, so for some of us, that defeats the purpose.
