A Montreal man is organizing a redhead festival designed to make people with red hair "feel like royalty."\nAttendees with red hair will get free shots, $1 Alexander Keith Rousse, and $3 Rye and Ginger.\nVisit MTLBlog for more headlines.\nThe quirkiness that permeates our city has always been my favourite part of being a Montrealer. But as someone who has lived here my entire life, I can say with certainty that hearing this story was a first for me. One Montreal man named Khaled wanted to see his friend from Toronto so severely that he decided to create a festival for her.\nYou may think this is the unusual part, but there's more.\nMany of us have gone to extreme measures to party with our friends, but this Montreal man has taken it to a new level.\nDescribing his friend Lesley, Khaled told MTL Blog that she is a “gorgeous redhead” with a great personality. In an effort to convince her to celebrate her birthday in Montreal, he decided to throw an event and dedicate it to redheads.\nKhaled says that before he knew it, the Facebook event he created had “blown up” and that the “response has been crazy ever since.” He went on to thank Lesley, who is the reason this event is happening in the first place.\nKhaled didn’t stop there. After he noticed that so many people took an interest in his idea, he decided he wanted to make this an event to remember. He told MTL Blog that the people organizing the event are going “all-out.” The event is now going to take place on November 7 at Mile Public House — a much bigger space than Khaled ever anticipated.\nView this post on Instagram your so lovely ❤️ (Scrap edit♡) ———— ac: forgot song: Sunkissed - ———— - (Tags) #mollyringwaldedit #mollyringwald #mollyringwaldedits #mollyringwalds #thebreakfastclub #thebreakfastclubedit #thebreakfastclubedits #thebreakfastclubedition #thebreakfastclubmovie #80saesthetic #80sedits #80smovies #90saesthetic #90sedits #mid90sedit #mid90smovie #clairestandish #clairestandishedit #clairestandishedits #clairestandishandbrian #brianjohnson #brianjohnsonedit #brianjohnsonedits A post shared by 𝙉𝙮𝙖𝙟𝙞𝙖 ☾ (@noodleweir) on Sep 25, 2019 at 3:00pm PDT\nThe entire staff will be dressed in red wigs and the decorations are sure to be on-brand as well. They want to create a “real festival atmosphere where redheads will be treated and feel like royalty.”\nThere will also be videos of the iconic redhead Ed Sheeran on a loop. Who knows, maybe he'll hear about the event and show up — but, probably not.\nAll redheads will get free shots throughout the evening. There will be contests for best hair and finest freckles for the events' attendees.\nView this post on Instagram 🌠#Escorpio como uno de los #signosfijos 🌠Por las buenas o nada . The granddaughter of a famous classical Spanish dancer, and daughter of two professional dancers, she began her career with strict dance training, and landed small parts in films before the age of 18. Initially signed with Fox, she was marketed as the “exotic foreigner," which still clung to her when she made the move to Columbia Studios. It wasn’t until studio head, Harry Cohn, and her first husband, Edward C. Judson, decided to rebrand her, that she adopted her mother’s maiden name, Hayworth. The newly minted star changed her hair color to a dark red and had electrolysis to raise her hairline and broaden the appearance of her forehead. ⠀ ⠀ After this transformation, and a few key films in the late ’30s and early ’40s, Rita rose to fame. Fan mail poured into Columbia’s publicity department and after a sultry performance in the film "Gilda," the press dubbed her the “Love Goddess.” Rita became the most popular pinup for G.I.s during WWII, and during the run of Gilda it was reported that an atomic bomb bearing her image as a reference to her bombshell status was to be tested. Rita detested this idea and was talked out of publicly denouncing it at the urging of her second husband, Orson Welles, who was afraid that she would appear un-American. ⠀ ⠀ To this day, Rita Hayworth is remembered as one of the most iconic redheads. Jack White, front man of the White Stripes, has cited her as, "an all-encompassing metaphor for everything I was thinking about," during the making of their 2005 album Get Behind Me Satan, and goes so far as to dedicate the song, “Take, Take, Take,” to her: "Then I was shocked to look up /And see Rita Hayworth there in a place so seedy /She walked into the bar with her long, red, curly hair /And that was all that I needed." 🔥 #tbt Illustration by @gina_schiappacasse_art.
