Let's face it: after a long and brutal winter, our patios and backyards could use a little bit of TLC. And those sad, secondhand IKEA chairs aren't gonna cut it on their own. One of the easiest way to add colour to your outdoor space and help the bees is to plant some flowers.\nBonus points if you plant some tomatoes or herbs: not only will your garden smell great, but it will save you some money on produce, too.\nUnfortunately, store-bought flowers and plants can be extremely expensive, and it can be hard to justify the cost. Luckily, the city of Montreal has you covered. They will be handing out free vegetation of all sorts this weekend in four locations accross the city.\nThe city of Montreal will be giving away flowers, herbs, vegetable plants, mulch and compost in an effort to beautify the city's boroughs. This year, the annual event will be taking place on Saturday, May 25.\nArrondissement du Sud-Ouest\nGiveaways will begin at 9:00 a.m, and the city is encouraging people to arrive early, as people will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis until stocks have run out. Residents must come to the event with a proof of residence.\nREAD ALSO: This Heart-Pounding Hanging Labyrinth 2 Hours Outside Montreal Is Open For The Summer Season\nThe giveaway will be taking place in four different boroughs;\nin Saint-Henri at Parc Louis-Cyr,\n\n\nin Little Burgundy at Coalition de la Petite-Bourgogne,\n\n\nin Pointe-Saint-Charles at Bibliothèque Saint-Charles\n\n\nin Saint-Paul-Émard at Parc Campbell-Ouest\n\n\nin the Mile End at rue Saint-Viateur between De l'Esplanade et Waverly\n\n\nin Hochelaga at Aréna Francis-Bouillon,\n\n\nin Mercier-Ouest at Aréna Saint-Donat,\n\n\nin Mercier-Ouest at Aréna Clément-Jetté,\n\n\nin the Plateau at Maison d'Aurore, and\n\n\nin the Plateau at Maison de l'amitié.\nArrondissement du Sud-Ouest\nThis is the perfect opportunity to get some free flowers and herbs and beautify your outdoor space, no matter how big or small it may be.\nEverything you need to know:\nWhat: a giveaway of flowers, herbs, vegetable plants, mulch and compost for your gardening needs.\nWhere: 4 different boroughs\nand in Saint-Paul-Émard at Parc Campbell-Ouest\nWhen: Saturday, May 25 at 9:00 a.m.\nCheck out the Facebook event for more information here, here, here and here.
