If there's one thing I've learned at this job it's that Montreal has a thirst for books that cannot be matched.

Time and time again, some our most popular articles have been about some kind of book sale or book giveaway.

That's why we promised ourselves to bring you any and every piece of news regarding books in Montreal.

Montreal is the city of never-ending festivals, so we decided to bring attention to some of Montreal's festivals that don't normally get the recognition they deserves.

The Book Festivals.

Here are two very special events coming up in Montreal:

Tomorrow (September 23rd) marks the start of La Saison de la Lecture de Montreal.

It's a 3 day festival featuring a ton of special events happening around the city including:

  • Book Expositions
  • Book clubs
  • Story times
  • Book signings
  • Book Yoga (whaaaaat?)
  • Art Galleries
  • Poetry Readings
  • And much, much more!

Click here for the full list of events.

The second event is the famous Salon Du Livre.

It takes place November 16 - 21 at Place Bonaventure.

This event started way back in 1950! And last year, over 100,000 book lovers attended to peruse the biggest pop-up "book store" in the city.

And it's not just a place to buy books, there are special events, animations, contests and prices, book readings, book giveaways, tons of freebies as well as many authors on site who will be on site signing copies of their books.

The exact list of events and guests will be announced on October 25th so we'll keep you posted as soon as we have more information.

In the meantime, check out Le Salon Du Livre's Website here.
