Remembering the year for all of its faults is a lot more fun than reminiscing about all the positives. It's almost thereapeutic to unleash all of the hate that built up all year. MTL Blog knows the importance of shitting on the year, and we're starting with the movies of 2013. For every award winner there was a steaming pile of cinematic crap, so here is to all the stinkers of 2013!\nClick here to see MTL Blog's most hated movies of 2013 >\nElysium\nRelease Date: August 7\nNotable Actors: Matt Damon, Jodie Foster\nRotten Tomatoes Score: 69%\nI don't know why I went to see this movie. It was like Gattica on a mushroom trip gone horribly wrong. Matt Damon didn't even die in the ending. Worst movie of 2013.-David Adleman\nThe Counselor\nRelease Date: October 25\nNotable Actors: Michael Fassbender, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Brad Pitt\nRotten Tomatoes Score: 35%\nThe trailer created a ton of hype around the film, as well as it featured several great actors and then the movie just didn't live up to it's expectations. The plot was inept and the trailer's suspense was barely reflected in the film. The Counselor was not necessarily a bad movie, more so disappointing. -Natalie Solomon\nWorld War Z\nRelease Date: June 21\nNotable Actors: Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos\nRotten Tomatoes Score: 67%\nThe whole movie seemed as though Brad Pitt had Zombie pheromones on him and wherever he went they ended up at that exact moment. He was on a plane, they came, he was behind a zombie proof wall, THEY CAME! -DJ Momesso\nSpring breakers\nRelease Date: March 22\nNotable Actors: James Franco, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens\nRotten Tomatoes Score: 66%\nJust felt like a very long and annoying american apparel ad -Jeanne Ouellet-Ayotte\nBlue is the Warmest Colour/La vie d'Adele\nRelease Date: October 9th\nNotable Actors: Léa Seydoux, Adèle Exarchopoulos\nRotten Tomatoes Score: 89%\nBeautiful cinemotography, but when a 3 hour movie is 60% lesbian sex scenes and watching people eat food, you have to criticize some directorial choices. -Michael D'Alimonte\nThis Is The End\nRelease Date: June 12\nNotable Actors: Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, James Franco\nRotten Tomatoes Score: 83%\nIt wasn't that funny. Also, why the hell would they make Aziz Ansari, Michael Cera and Mindy Kaling dissapear within the first 10 minutes? Urgh. -Eileen English\nThe Hunger Games: Catching Fire\nRelease Date: 22 November\nNotable Actors: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth |\nRotten Tomatoes Score: 90%\nLet me leave many of you frustrated with my reason why this was my most hated movie of 2013... It sucked just because it did. -Joshua McRae\nAfter Earth\nRelease Date: May 31\nNotable Actors: Will Smith, Jaden Smith\nRotten Tomatoes Score: 11%\nWe get it, you're father and son. You didn't have to waste an hour and a half of my time, and millions of dollars, to let me know. Oh, and M. Night Shyamalyan doesn't redeem himself with this piece of suck. What a twist. -Michael D'Alimonte\nThe World's End\nRelease Date: August 23\nNotable Actors: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost\nRotten Tomatoes Score: 89%\nOverrated, overhyped and barely pulled a smile or so. Not the expected level of hilarity in the least. -Tamkinat Mirza\nJustin Bieber's Believe\nRelease Date: December 25\nNotable Actors: None (we're not giving beebs an actor credit)\nRotten Tomatoes Score: ??? (but probably zero)\nIn truth we didn't watch this movie. Do we need to watch it to know its going to be awful? No. Bieber is enough to do that.\nDid you see your favourite movie on our most hated list? Was the worst movie of 2013 not on here? Bring on the boos in the comments below.
