After an extremely popular run at the Arsenal art contemporain in Montreal, press release. For the exhibit, Van Gogh's works and images of his real-life inspirations are projected onto giant hanging canvases and the gallery floor.
Those unfamiliar with his life and work can learn more through a comprehensive introduction in the exhibition's atrium.
Inside, visitors are swallowed into the artist's colourful, expressive world.
The magnified view offers new perspectives on his work and the detail of his brush strokes.
The music of Saint-Saëns, Mozart, Bach, Delibes, and Satie animate the space and dramatize the timeline of the artist's work.
The highlight: a panoramic view of The Starry Night accompanied by the sound of a crescendoing orchestra.
"Imagine Van Gogh promises an unusual experience, as visitors will wander at their leisure through huge projections of Van Gogh's paintings, 30 feet high, at the Quebec City Convention Centre."
