Our province is beautiful during all four seasons, but something is just extra magical about autumn in Quebec. When the leaves begin to change colours, it becomes an ideal time to head out on a little road trip. And if you have yet to visit the Carbide Willson Ruins, that should be your first destination once the seasons start to change.

From commonly known spots to lesser-visited areas, our province is swimming in picturesque locations that'll remind you of the beauty that we Quebecers are so lucky to be surrounded by

The Carbide Willson Ruins, which are located in Chelsea, Quebec, is one of those places.

This collection of hauntingly beautiful abandoned buildings is bound to take your breath away.

Situated less than three hours from Montreal, this spot is great for both a day trip or even an overnight fall adventure.

The striking backdrop is spectacular throughout any season, but when combined with the magical fall foliage, this location becomes all the more breathtaking.

The shells of the buildings found on-site are surrounded by forests as well as a nearby stream, giving you a ton of picture-perfect spots

The grounds in the Gatineau Hills overlooking Meech Lake were once the home of Leopold Wilson, an inventor from Princeton, Ontario born in 1860.

Wilson is known for his interest in electricity and his mission to develop a dynamoelectric lighting system while focusing on producing pure aluminum.

In 1867, the three-storey residence became the world’s first phosphoric acid condensing plant.

Sadly, only the base of the acid condensation tower survived the horrific fire that took place in Gatineau Park

There's a tour of the ruins that allows visitors to explore this piece of Canadian history while taking in the colourful landscape, making it a dream-like fall activity to dive into.

Sooner than you know it, fall will be here, so why not start planning an adventure to this beautiful, historic spot in Quebec?

From the moment you step foot into these ruins, you'll be left in awe by the beauty that surrounds you.
