- MTL Blog has confirmed a new filming spot for the Home Alone reboot in Montreal.
- Where you may ask? None other than Pointe-Claire Village.
- See videos of the crew filming here below!
The filming of the Home Alone reboot in Montreal has taken over both my thoughts and our city during the past few months. I've been working hard to find out as much as I can about this much-anticipated project and as promised, I've been sharing all my knowledge with you, my favourite readers. MTL Blog has already confirmed that the cast and crew were filming in both Longueuil and Beaconsfield. And, we can now add the charming Pointe-Claire Village to that list.
Both yesterday and today, the film's cast has been spotted doing their thing in yet another Montreal suburb, which means we will be able to spot another part of our city in the movie.
The filming is taking place in the heart of the charming village on "Lakeshore street between Cartier and Golf," according to one of our sources.
The Pointe-Claire Village is currently filled with Christmas decorations and a Christmas tree sale stocked with real trees, and, I can imagine, that oh so lovely pine smell.
Most of the shops in the area are going to remain open while they're shooting. But, just in case you plan on making your way over, it should be noted that parking in the area is limited.
The plot, which is said to be completely different from the original will be starring Ellie Kemper, Robe Delaney, and Archie Yates.
Yates, who many assumed would be the new Kevin McCallister, is instead going to be a kid named Max — a totally new character that I know we're all excited to see.
This Disney+ reboot is being directed by the talented and hilarious Dan Mazer and I'm hoping that the movie will provide us with a laugh or two.
I'm not entirely sure which is more exciting to me, the fact that a reboot of one of my favourite films is being made, or the fact that it's being filmed in Montreal.
I'd say I'm equally ecstatic about both.
Rhonda Massad, of the West Island Blog, got some stellar footage of the filming taking place. Check it out!
I can't wait to see which of my favourite Montreal spots end up as the backdrop for the new Home Alone scenes!
